Difference Between Regrets and Disappointment

You are disappointed when expectations were not met by something or someone.

Regret is a feeling of sadness about something wrong or about a mistake that you have made, and a wish that it could have been different and better.

Disappointments can be momentary feelings, where regrets are buggers that hang on, and on for decades.   Regrets never seem to go away, but there are ways to stop the regret train.

If we are disappointed by someone, we can make an effort to confront that person.  If we are disappointed in a show, we paid $200 to see, lesson learned.

Regrets are for a lifetime, and disappointment is momentary.
